How did the idea come about?
The "Grand Prix de Réallon", formerly known as the "Derby de la Spatule", is an offbeat ski race! Come one, come all, and spend a fun-filled day racing down the Réallon ski slopes in your very own disguise. Be inventive: the most original disguise will win a prize.
La spatule en bois" restaurant/spa and the Réallon Ski Club came up with the idea of creating this event to mark the start of the February vacations. And what better way to do it than with a festive and original event. This is how the "Derby de Réallon" came into being in 2017.
The concept: don your best vintage costume and equipment and challenge the best skiers in the area to a descent from the top of the resort.

Practical information on the "Grand Prix de Réallon":
- Start in pairs every 30 seconds
- Race open to adapted skiers
- The Grand Prix is divided into two rounds
- The time is calculated on the average of the two participants and the two runs.
- Teams wearing pre-1990 vintage outfits and equipment will be given a 30-second advantage per run.
- Prizes: a special prize for the best costume. Many prizes to be won
A festive program: registration for the event is free and can be done at the Réallon Tourist Office 04 92 44 25 67. A ski pass is required.
For each race entry, a raffle ticket is offered.
Samedi 23 mars
10h : Inscription à l’Office de Tourisme et remise des dossards.
14h30 : Départ de la première manche
15h30 : Ravitaillement
16h : Départ de la seconde manche
17h30 : Remise des prix sur le front de neige
20h : Concert
Dimanche 24 mars
- Raffle draw.
- Prize-giving ceremony.
Safety is a top priority for the resort, and doesn't prevent the originality of the disguise, so helmets are compulsory.
