Description
Le Galopin is a pet-breeding farm (most of them miniature), which also offers self-guided tours of the farm, by prior arrangement only. Organic free-range eggs for sale.
Le Galopin is a farm that breeds partly miniature animals, and offers farm visits, so that you can observe them in their own space and discover them on an eight-hectare estate.
These animals are intended solely for companionship or for farm visits. Some are also rescues.
You'll find miniature American donkeys, miniature shetlands, dwarf goats, Ouessants sheep, peacocks, various poultry, Hermann's tortoises, miniature pigs, rabbits, guinea pigs, geese, various breeds of horses and ponies, quails, peacock pigeons ... on an 8-hectare estate.
When you arrive, you'll be able to observe Le Galopin's animals in their pens, which have been adapted to their needs. You'll be able to see them from the outside and, depending on the breeder's possibilities and how busy they are, you'll be able to stroke some of the animals in their pens, depending on what's needed at the time (births, safety, etc.).
Depending on the time of year you visit, you will have the opportunity to see the newborns of the year, such as the American miniature donkeys, kids, lambs, etc.
We will explain to you how you can get close to them, depending on their well-being and character at the time of your visit.
In summer, Le Galopin plans morning visits, for your comfort and that of the animals, as in the afternoons, the animals are looking for coolness and are often in their shelters, and therefore less visible.
Le Galopin is a relaxing, peaceful environment in harmony with nature and the animals. That's why it's essential to book in advance, so that we can get in touch and explain how things work, and so that we can regulate visitor numbers and avoid stressing the animals, allowing you to enjoy a relaxing moment in the heart of nature. Most people spend an average of 1? hours on the site (depending on their level of interest).
No feeding or bottle-feeding workshops are offered, as the animals are cared for early before you arrive, and are exclusively fed by their mothers (except in cases of force majeure).
Le Galopin also takes in animals in need and looks after them until the end of their lives. Le Galopin's hens are bred in the open air, so you'll be able to watch them evolve when you visit, and if you wish, you can buy eggs (organic, uncalibrated, dated), subject to availability. Le Galopin welcomes you according to the requirements of maintaining and breeding the animals, and in relation to the seasons. They are all outdoors, and it is not possible to visit in bad weather. The best period is from April to October, with many more opportunities in July and August.
Poultry and other animals roam freely, so you can't bring your pet with you, even if it's on a lead.
Every day, videos are posted on our social networks (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok), so you can get a feel for the place before you come.
