Description
The start of the 19th stage of the Tour de France 2024 will be at the Embrun lake (dummy start).
The race will then head towards Embrun town centre for the real start, which should be between Embrun and Châteauroux les Alpes.
Every year the Tour de France has a 'queen' stage in store for us, and this year's 2024 edition promises to be a fierce one. Just imagine, a positive vertical drop of almost 4000m over 145km, the summit of this year's race at 2802m on the Cime de la Bonette, all before tackling the climb to Isola 2000 and after "swallowing" the Col de Vars. Dantesque! Fortunately for the riders, the Tour de France chose Embrun and the site of the lake for the start, a place of soothing beauty before a day in hell.
